Training & Skill Development

Whether you’re brand new to pickleball or working toward your next competitive goal, Sactown Pickleball connects you to pickleball lessons, training opportunities, community-led drills, and trusted learning resources across the Sacramento region. Our approach is simple: keep learning accessible, welcoming, and community-powered.

Training Sessions

Pickleball training for all skill levels

Our pickleball training sessions are designed for every skill level —from first-time players to advanced competitors.
Choose the track that fits your experience. There’s no required order and no need to sign up for more than one session at a time. Not sure where to start? Foundations is the best entry point for most players.

Training Formats

Our training sessions use different formats depending on the focus and availability. Each format supports skill-building in a welcoming, community-first environment.

Community-Led Drills & Practice Play

What this means:

These sessions are guided by experienced community players, including tournament participants and those with advanced training backgrounds. While not formal instruction, sessions emphasize repetition, confidence, and shared improvement.

You can expect focus areas such as:
  • Dinking and net control
  • Serve and return fundamentals
  • Court positioning and footwork
  • Rally-building and shot selection
Open, collaborative, and welcoming to players who want to grow together.

Finding the Right Track

Some training sessions include suggested experience levels to help everyone have the best possible experience. These guidelines are meant to support learning — not limit participation.

Our tracks loosely align with USA Pickleball (USAP) skill guidance, but players are encouraged to choose the track that feels right for them. Skill levels are guidelines, not barriers.
